"One journey, countless lessons."
Today, learning is no longer confined to textbooks or the four walls of a classroom. A field trip, a sports day with friends, or even making a simple purchasing decision for the first time can become meaningful experiences that shape a child's growth.
With the goal of creating more opportunities for experiential learning, BECAMEX TOKYU has been organizing Kids Tour, an educational field trip program held across public spaces and commercial developments within TOKYU Garden City. Over the past years, the program has partnered with numerous schools both within and beyond Bình Dương Ward, bringing students hands-on learning experiences that are closely connected to everyday life.
1. Learning from Nature and Sustainable Living
One of the regular destinations of Kids Tour is Hikari, a commercial area developed with sustainability at its core.
Here, students are introduced to waste sorting, learn how kitchen waste can be converted into organic fertilizer, and observe how nature is thoughtfully integrated into an urban environment through ponds, natural light and landscapes featuring edible plants.
Terms and illustrations once seen in textbooks become much more tangible as children observe them firsthand and participate in hands-on activities.
Through these simple yet meaningful experiences, environmental awareness is nurtured naturally and leaves a lasting impression.
2. Learning Independence
Beyond exploring nature, Kids Tour also takes students into commercial spaces where they learn through familiar real-life situations.
With a small assigned budget, children are encouraged to choose suitable items, balance needs with preferences, and confidently communicate with store staff whenever they need assistance.
These everyday experiences help foster independence, decision-making skills and confidence in communication.
3. Learning the value of Teamwork
At the football field of SORA gardens Links, sports days become much more than moments of physical activity.
Through games and team sports, students learn to cooperate with teammates, follow the rules, encourage one another during challenges and celebrate victories together. These are valuable life lessons that cannot easily be gained from textbooks alone.
4. Learning about Transportation
Another memorable stop on the journey is BECAMEX TOKYU Bus.
Here, students meet the operations team, learn about the daily work of bus drivers and discover what it takes to keep every bus journey running safely.
The visit also introduces children to basic traffic safety, proper etiquette when using public transportation and the importance of respecting those who contribute to serving the community. These everyday concepts become much more relatable through firsthand experience.
Lessons Beyond the Classroom
Each Kids Tour lasts only one day, yet what children take home is far more than photographs or stories to share.
Sometimes, the most memorable lessons are not learned from a blackboard or a textbook, but through real-life experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
Looking ahead, BECAMEX TOKYU hopes to continue collaborating with schools to expand experiential learning opportunities, contributing to engaging and meaningful extracurricular environments for future generations.
