Becamex-Tokyu’s New Year Greeting Ceremony on Feb 3rd
On February 3rd, the first working Monday after our Tet holidays, a New Year Greeting Ceremony was held at Sale Gallery.
In the ceremony, beside the familiar New Year greeting to all members and departments, Becamex-Tokyu CEO Mr. Oh Dongkun delivered a speech about the business plan and goals in 2020.
The ceremony featured two cultural traditions when Mr. Oh drew an eye of the Daruma doll due to Japanese tradition and prepared a lucky draw of “li xi” (lucky money in a red pocket) for the members due to the mutual Sinophere New Year’s tradition. Daruma dolls are seen as a symbol of perseverance and good luck, the charms were often believed to have an effectiveness of one year. Originally, people have to make a wish first and paint one of the Daruma’s eye (the eyes are left blank), and when their wish is realised, they can then paint the second eye as a sign of accomplishment. And “li xi” is often given to younger people as a wish to meet a lot of good things in the year. Needless to say, the traditions delighted everyone significantly.
The whole company was filled with the joyful atmosphere and everyone was full of spirit towards the year to come. We give our promise to exert ourselves, not only to assist the company’s business but also to bring people the best services and experiences.
Happy Lunar New Year, we wish you a healthy, prosperous and successful New Year.
