The first Shopping Center in Binh Duong New City "SORA gardens SC" is to be opened at the end of July 2023
BECAMEX TOKYU CO., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “BECAMEX TOKYU”) - a subsidiary of TOKYU CORPORATION is opening the first shopping center in Binh Duong New City, Vietnam, named “SORA gardens SC” at the end of July. In the future, BECAMEX TOKYU also plans to gradually expand this area in alignment with the development of the city.
Well-located at the “SORA gardens” Area at the entrance of Binh Duong New City, SORA gardens SC is the first shopping center of the city, where customers can enjoy shopping, dining, and entertaining. Bringing the concept of “Coloring your life”, SORA gardens SC targets customers who are living, working, or visiting around the area of Binh Duong New City with its tenants being major brands from Japan such as AEON, kidzoona, mollyfantasy, KOHNAN JAPAN, ABC-MART, and MUJI.
The design of SORA gardens SC combines the concepts that resemble the indirect lighting of the Japanese traditional “Kumiko” and “Shoji” screen at many spots inside the mall, and the outdoor part and wide glass walls also enable the customers to feel the sunlight and breeze from outside. Besides, so as for families with kids to enjoy the most convenient experience at SORA gardens SC, we utilize the Japanese know-how in shopping center operation with features such as implementing nursery rooms or kids’ restrooms.
Moreover, not only there is an outdoor event square with a large LED screen in front of the shopping center where many different events in collaboration with the local and other tenants will be held, there is also “SORA gardens Links” (opened in June 2023) that consists of a football field with roof, skate park, community garden, outdoor restaurants, etc., connected nearby. All of which makes the area a new place for building community.
Furthermore, SORA gardens SC is equipped with a "high-efficiency water-cooled screw chiller" and "dimming-type high-efficiency LED lighting" as environmental initiatives, which is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 700 tons annually. This initiative has been recognized as an excellent use of decarbonization technology and has been chosen for the Japan Ministry of the Environment's 2021 Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) financial support project for equipment assistance (*).
BECAMEX TOKYU is expecting to complete the condominium project “MIDORI PARK The GLORY” in 2024, as well as cooperate with our subsidiary BECAMEX TOKYU BUS to open more new routes connecting the surrounding areas with Binh Duong New City in March 2023, and planning to open a route which connects to Ho Chi Minh City. We will continue to contribute to the development of Binh Duong New City through promoting the city’s urban development by optimizing experience achieved from their project "Tokyu Tama Den-en-toshi" in Japan.
(*) Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM) is a system to cooperate with developing countries for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by utilizing superior decarbonization technology, etc., and measures, reports, and verifies (MRV). The purpose of this is to contribute to the achievement of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets in Japan and partner countries through the JCM, along with the reduction of greenhouse gases in developing countries. Subsidies will be provided up to 1/2 of the initial investment costs for advanced decarbonization technologies.
